In January, the provisional installations of MAM BA are opened in the foyer of the Teatro Castro Alves. Assisted by Mario Cravo, Lina curates exhibitions in this space until 1963, transforming the museum into a cultural centre. Composer and musicologist Koellreutter runs Free Music Seminars and Walter da Silveira organizes the Bahia Film Club. In November Bertolt Brecht’s Threepenny Opera opens, in the ruins of the Theatre, directed by Martim Gonçalves, with scenic architecture by Lina.
